Theresa Agnes Rosin passed away peacefully at the age of 95 years on February 5th,2026 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, with family by her side. Theresa was born on September 16th,1930 on the family farm near Langenburg, Saskatchewan to Joseph and Matilda (Kammermayer) Goetz. She was the second oldest of seven children, growing up with three brothers and three sisters. Theresa enjoyed her time on the farm with her siblings.
Theresa attended Morning Glory School, completing grades one through nine. She continued her schooling at Lebret High School while boarding at St. Gabriel’s Convent, operated by the Sisters of the Missions. Following her high school graduation in 1948, Theresa worked for several families in the Langenburg area doing housework and other duties.
During her teenage years Theresa met Henry Rosin at a barn dance, and they dated briefly before parting ways when Henry joined the army in 1944. Following discharge from the army, Henry settled in the Swift Current area before returning to Bredenbury in 1967. In 1950 Theresa had an opportunity to help with the tobacco harvest on her Aunt Mary and Uncle Angelus Van Hee’s farm in Simcoe, Ontario. Theresa decided to remain in Ontario, working at Bell Canada in Toronto for over 20 years. Theresa welcomed son Michael in 1968, who was raised by James and Janet Godfrey and grew up in Etobicoke.
Theresa reconnected with Henry in 1970 and moved back to the Langenburg area. They were married on August 28th,1970 and settled in Bredenbury. In 1972 Henry and Theresa purchased a farm 5 miles east of Langenburg where they grew various crops and raised cattle. In 1973 they were blessed with the arrival of their daughter Janice. The farm was sold in 1986 and the family moved to Langenburg. Henry and Theresa were married for 40 years at the time of Henry’s passing on March 22nd, 2011.
Theresa enjoyed knitting, playing bingo and cards, tending to her large garden both on the farm and in Langenburg, and serving lunches at auction sales in the area. Dancing was another favorite pastime; she especially loved polkas and the old-time waltz. Theresa was a dedicated member of the church and CWL, volunteering countless hours around the community. She enjoyed several trips with her sisters, Eileen’s cabin in Laughlin was a favorite destination. Theresa was a dedicated mom and grandma that cherished her time with her grandkids, Kamryn and Evan. She was selfless and loved those special to her unconditionally. She had a huge heart, a dry witty sense of humor, and an infectious laugh.
Theresa’s health began to decline in 2018, and she was admitted to the Langenburg Centennial Special Care Home in September of 2020 where she resided until her passing. Sincere thanks to the staff for taking care of Theresa in her final years.
Theresa was predeceased by her parents Joe and Tillie Goetz, beloved husband Henry, sisters Mary (Ernie) Wirth and Agnes Rollenhagen, brothers Andy and Norbert Goetz along with Henry’s parents and siblings.
Theresa is lovingly remembered by her son Michael (Anne) Godfrey and his children Jenna and Ryan, and daughter Janice (Rob) Schwartz and their children Kamryn and Evan. She also leaves behind her brother Jerry (Millie) Goetz, sister Eileen Goetz, and sisters-in-law Lorraine and Fern Goetz as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends including close friends and longtime neighbours Terry and Paulette Hautz and their family.
